The role
As a Business tutor at HMP Thameside, you will play a crucial role in helping our learners develop their business acumen and gain further skills in how to successfully set up and run a business. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons, tailoring your teaching to meet the needs of each individual learner. Your passion for education and dedication to our learners' success will make you a valuable asset to our team. The business curriculum area sits in a small team led by an experienced Hub Manager to support you with your continuous professional development. The business team fits within the wider department of four Hub Managers, Administration Manager, Local Education Manager and approximately 30 staff.
This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week over 4.5 days. Monday – Thursday 8 to 5 with a 1pm finish on a Friday. Out of this, you will be working with a maximum of 12 learners at any time for 23 to 26 hours. The remaining 11 to 14 hours include administration/preparation time. All planning and marking are done on site within the working hours and there is not a requirement to complete any additional extra-curricular activities apart from within your working day.
