Technician - Animal Care
Job description
Be part of The Manchester College, a unique organisation focused on careers and creating greater opportunities.
Join our team today as our new Technician in our Animal Care Department on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis.
To carry out agreed technician duties in the relevant teaching areas across sites.
To adhere to safe working practices at
all times and to assist with health and safety advice and support including the delivery of safety inductions on equipment and good studio/workshop practice.
To ensure the purchase of cost effective materials from suppliers working within stated budgets
To manage, audit and maintain all stock and technical resources/equipment needed in the support of curriculum areas ensuring staff and students are able to utilise equipment as and when required.
The Manchester College is based at many sites across the city, each with its own specialist cutting edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest FE College in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners.
In this role you will support the teaching and learning objectives of planned curriculum programmes through the provision of technical support.
In order to do this, you will need:
Level 2 Maths & English
Industry relevant qualification as applicable by specialist function Desirable
Level 3 subject specialism and Level 3 Education/Training (PTTLS equivalent)
Specific relevant industry experience
