Painting and Decorating Trainer role is offered on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. As a Painting and Decorating Trainer there are two levels available
Trainer 1 Criteria
You must have Level 2 functional maths and English or above
Industry experience / qualifications
Experience in teaching/training
Trainer 2 Criteria , as Trainer 1 and also required,
Teaching qualifications, assessor/ IQA qualifications
To be successfully in the role of Painting & Decorating Tutor you will be required to;
Work with a group of 10 young adults learners
Plan sessions and deliver quality teaching that follow the accredited City and Guilds level 1 and level 2 painting and decorating qualifications.
To meet the needs and interests of our learners and equip them with the skills required for them to enter into employment or further education on release
To role model professional standards of conduct as well as raise expectations and aspirations of our learners,
To enthuse, motivate and create ownership of own learning.
Work with learners to develop personalised learning plans, to equip them with the skills, knowledge and behaviours facilitating positive progress towards their longer term aspiration.
Continually develop your practice and skills, to engage in new initiatives and, to share best practice with colleagues.
Utilise policies and procedures (both Novus and HMPPS) to support the wider prison resettlement and skills strategy.
Work collaboratively as part of a local specialist education team and, positively contribute as part of the wider prison team.
