Job description
The Manchester College has many Campus across Greater Manchester, each with its own specialist cutting-edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest Further Education College in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners.
We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Student Mentor on a permanent,
full time (37 hours per week) term time only basis.
The purpose of this role is to support and develop the personal, social and health education of learners within a specific business unit for all age groups. This includes using action plans and target setting, alongside utilising internal and external support agencies.
To do this successfully you’ll need:
Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
Qualified to at least level 3 in Mentoring, Youth Work, Counselling or Advice & Guidance.
Have experience of supporting learners in an educational setting, preferably Further Education and Higher Education.
Have experience working with 16+ students
Have experience in providing support for academic and personal, social and health development.
