As an Business Development Graduate Trainee, your role will be to support the Business Development Team to develop high-quality bids to ensure sustained income generation and income diversification for all business units that operate within the LTE Group.
The role is offered on a Fixed term (2 Year) basis, working 37 per week. You will support new business through the full end to end proposal process – from initial interest and coordinating activities around the pursuit of an opportunity, coordination of responses to pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ), if applicable, and final tender proposal documentation submission. The role involves providing support to all affiliated functions to assist the quality and timely completion of proposal submissions.
To be successful in the role of Business Development Graduate Trainee no experience of bid and proposal coordination is necessary, as formal training will be provided both on the job and off the job. However, the following skills will be required:
Organisation and planning
Excellent organisational and time management skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously, and meet defined deadlines.
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions to ensure compliance.
Logging and capture of all proposal data in a shared central repository.
Document control skills.
Writing and editorial
Confidence in authoring and excellent English.
Attention to detail, e.g. ability to proofread own and colleague’s work using correct grammar and punctuation.
Creative writing skills.
Ability to use a range of tools, methods and search engines, to analyse and assimilate data, such as competitor analysis or customer research.
Communication
Good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels of the business.
Liaise with operational/legal/finance teams and other team members as necessary.
Able to work across large and virtual teams.
Customer focus
Tailor bid documents to customer need wants and requirements.
Creative problem solving to deliver a solution that meets customer needs.
Team working and relationship building
Work and engage with colleagues and teams, leveraging relationships and networks to support information gathering and writing.
Build relationships with colleagues and subject matter experts across the business, learning the ‘go-to people and how to manage their input.
Build rapport and trust.
