We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Senior Lecturer in Art at UCEN Manchester on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis, with significant remission to support growing our Visual Art provision, co-created with employers and other partners.
UCEN Manchester delivers first-class technical and professional higher-level skills to meet the priorities of Greater Manchester and the wider region, with a focus on a vocational education.

What the role entails
We are looking for someone that has the knowledge of the Visual Arts education sector, alongside the skills and experiences of engaging with industry and other partners, to grow and shape our degree offer in Fine Art, Sustainable Fashion and Jewellery.
In your role you will plan, lead and develop the curriculum portfolio to ensure we continue to provide the higher-level skills needs for the Creative Industries sector, including some exciting developments around BA degrees and short courses, co-led with our industry partners. Initially your focus will be on writing our new suite of Art degrees and taking them through the validation process, before focusing on student engagement and recruitment activities, and delivering to the first cohorts of students within this provision.
As a UCEN Manchester Senior Lecturer there will also be a commitment to teaching in a related subject area, where the focus will be to deliver a high quality, student-focused education providing a secure and friendly environment in order for your students to succeed and progress. The proportion of direct teaching and curriculum development time will be negotiated, subject to the skills and experience of the candidate and the priorities of UCEN Manchester.
