This Information Advice and Guidance Team Leader role is offered on a Fixed Term (with the possibility of extension) basis, working 37 hours per week. The purpose of this role as directed by the OLASS Manager is to provide a service to supervise a guidance/education support services team, ensuring that all budget, quality and operational
targets are achieved in line with Novus policies and procedures. The post holder will lead a team that seeks to facilitate a smooth transition for service users through induction, time in custody and resettlement into the community.
To be successful in the role of Information, Advice & Guidance Team Leader you will be required to;
Provide comprehensive, confidential and impartial information services on educational and training opportunities within the establishment and in the community
Ensure that ULNs are generated and that Learner Plans are populated via the Learner Record Service
for all eligible learners (where this service is part of the contract)
Work with service users on a one-to-one basis to develop skills related to resettlement such as
employability and job seeking skills
Ensure that all required client records are accurate and maintained in line with data protection, prison
and Novus policies.
Liaise with relevant IAG teams, agencies and stakeholders in custody and community and share
relevant information in line with data protection in order to contribute to a consistent and continuous learning journey in custody and in the community
Devise and promote processes leading to effective allocation to activities
Report in a timely and accurate manner on funding and compliance activity
Ensure the safeguarding of learners
Day to day management of IAG/Education Support Services team in line with Novus policies and procedures (and co-ordination of the service where elements are provided via a secondment arrangement with another provider)
Compliance with Novus & stakeholder policies and procedures.
Provide information regarding relevance to the current labour market that will inform curriculum reviews
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and prison security requirements
Achievement of delivery targets
Achievement of quality targets
Accurate and timely reports
Development of a motivated and flexible team
