We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Lancaster Farm & HMP Kirkham, working as a Construction Cover Teacher on an ad-hoc basis.
You will deliver construction teaching and practical workshop sessions on an ad hoc basis within the education department, supporting learners to develop industry‑relevant skills and behaviours. Sessions are structured and aligned to curriculum and awarding body requirements, with a focus on accredited outcomes, employability, and resettlement.

HMP Lancaster Farms is located on the outskirts of Lancaster. The prison is a Category C Male Prison and offers a diverse range of education opportunities and employment support opportunities in industrial cleaning, physical education, gardening among others. The team’s aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.
HMP Kirkham is based in the village of Kirkham, Lancashire. It operates as a Category D prison and supports a male population. The team’s aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.
