Novus are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Functional Skills Outreach Teacher to work on a part-time basis to deliver high-quality Maths and English Functional Skills programmes to learners in a secured setting. This rewarding role involves supporting individuals to develop their confidence, skills and qualifications, enabling them to progress into further learning and work towards meaningful goals.
Working across a range of prison settings, the successful candidate will plan and deliver high‑quality Maths and English sessions through outreach, adapting materials to meet individual needs. You will engage diverse learner groups, deliver inspiring curriculum support, assess learner progress, and provide tailored support to help learners achieve their goals.
We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Stafford, working as a Functional Skills Outreach Teacher. This position is offered on a permanent, part-time basis, working one day per week (7.4hrs).

Site Information
HMP Stafford is a notable Category C men’s prison, situated in Stafford, Staffordshire. Established in 1793, the prison has evolved significantly over the centuries. Initially designed to house a variety of offenders, it has been reclassified multiple times to meet changing demands. The prison’s capacity is approximately 751, with most inmates serving sentences ranging from two to four years. The prison offers extensive support and educational programs aimed at reducing reoffending rates.
