We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic ESOL Teacher to deliver engaging lessons within a prison education setting. In this rewarding role, you will help learners improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, supporting them to communicate more effectively, increase their independence and progress towards positive outcomes.
We have a fantastic opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Hewell, working as an ESOL Teacher within our prison education team. This position is offered on a permanent, part-time basis, working 13 hours per week (Monday: 8 hours, Friday: 5 hours)

Situated in the village of Tardebigge, near Redditch in Worcestershire, England, HMP Hewell is a Category B men’s prison serving the West Midlands area. It offers a range of training and development programs, including vocational workshops, educational courses, and initiatives focused on resettlement and family support.
Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will deliver engaging, accessible and high-quality ESOL lessons which support learners to develop their English language skills for everyday communication, further learning and future employment. You will play a key part in building learners’ confidence, independence and ability to communicate effectively within a prison education setting.
